1. Introduction
Nurses Nest (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using our website, you agree to the terms of this policy.
2. Personal information we collect
We collect information necessary to provide our services and respond to your enquiries. This includes:
- Contact details: name, email address, and phone number, provided when you purchase a membership or contact us.
- Membership and payment information: the details needed to set up and manage your Nurses Nest membership, including your subscription status and renewal dates.
- Financial information you choose to share: income, expense and budgeting information you provide, or that is drawn into your budgeting spreadsheet through a read-only connection you authorise, so we can categorise your nursing income and help you plan.
- Coaching and support records: notes and correspondence arising from onboarding calls, group coaching calls, and messages you send us.
- Technical data: IP addresses, browser type, and usage data collected through Google Analytics.
3. How we collect data
We collect information through several methods:
- Direct interaction: when you purchase a membership through our payment provider, when you take part in onboarding or coaching calls, and when you email or message us.
- Our payment provider: checkout is hosted by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details directly and passes us the information we need to identify your membership and fulfil your order.
- Read-only banking connections: where you set one up as part of the budgeting system, the connection is read-only. It is used to populate your budgeting spreadsheet, and never to move money.
- Automated technologies: as you interact with our site, we use cookies, server logs, and similar technologies, specifically Google Analytics.
4. Why we collect and use your information
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide the membership, tools, coaching and support you have paid for.
- Manage your membership: process your subscription, send renewal and billing notifications, and provide access to member resources and the community.
- Marketing: send you newsletters or promotional material where you have opted in. You can opt out at any time using the “unsubscribe” link. In compliance with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), all our marketing emails include a clear, functional unsubscribe link in the footer.
- Improvement: analyse website traffic to improve our user experience.
5. Analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, and referring source. We do not run advertising or remarketing tags on this website.
You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing Google’s browser opt-out add-on.
6. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell, rent, or lease our customer lists to third parties. We may share data with:
- Service providers: our payment provider (Stripe), the email and spreadsheet platforms we use to deliver the budgeting system and member communications, and the platform hosting our private community.
- Analytics partners: Google, for the purpose of website performance measurement.
- Legal obligations: where required by Australian law.
7. International data transfers
As we use service providers such as Google and Stripe, your personal information may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside Australia (including the United States). By providing us with your personal information, you consent to this disclosure. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any overseas recipient handles your personal information in accordance with the APPs.
8. Data security
We use industry-standard security measures, including SSL encryption and platform-level security controls, to protect the data you provide. Card details are handled by our PCI-DSS-compliant payment provider and are never stored by us. Banking connections used by the budgeting system are read-only. While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
9. External links
Our website may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those websites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
10. Children’s privacy
Our website is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 15. Under Australian privacy guidelines, individuals aged 15 and over are generally presumed to have the capacity to consent to the collection of their personal information. (Under the GDPR for European Union residents, this age is 16.) We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 15 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information from our servers.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated policy on our website.
12. Access, correction, and complaints

- Access and correction: contact us using the contact details published on this website to request access to, or correction of, your personal information.
- Complaints: if you believe we have breached the APPs, please contact us. If we do not resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
13. Additional rights for EU and California residents
If you are located in the European Union or California, you have additional rights under the GDPR and/or CCPA:
- Right to be forgotten (right to erasure): you may request that we delete your personal information. We will comply where we have no legal obligation to retain it.
- Data portability: you may request a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. You may also request that we transfer your data to another service provider where technically feasible.

14. Retention of membership records
We retain membership, invoice and payment records for the period required by Australian taxation and consumer law (generally at least 5 years from the date of the transaction).
